About Us

The Vice Provost for Research & Innovation for the University of Arkansas serves as the Chief Research Officer and reports to the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, Office of Research Compliance, Technology Ventures, High Performance Computing Center, Office of Industry Engagement, and University of Arkansas Press has reporting lines to our office.

The University of Arkansas, founded in 1871, is the state's land-grant and flagship institution, offering undergraduate and graduate degrees in a wide variety of disciplines.


The mission of the Office of Research & Innovation is to support faculty conducting externally funded research; to involve students in the research enterprise; and to spur economic development in the State of Arkansas through the commercialization of university research.


The vision of the Office of Research & Innovation is to advance the University of Arkansas toward its goal of becoming one of the nation’s top 50 public research universities by 2021.
