MacArthur Foundation Fellowships

The MacArthur Foundation Fellows is awarded to persons across all subjects of academia and the arts who have shown “exceptional creativity, promise for important future advances based on a track record of significant accomplishment, and potential for the fellowship to facilitate subsequent creative work.”


  • U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident.
  • Nomination from “the nominators who are chosen from a broad range of fields and areas of interest as possible”.

Selection Criteria:

“Each nomination is considered with respect to the program's selection criteria, based on the nomination letter along with original works of the nominee and evaluations from other experts collected by the program staff.”
